Itinerary description
This little circuit connects the Sylvesters and Mt Castle Lookouts at Goomburra with a mixture of trail and off track walking. This was the only segment of Main Range that I hadn't walked between Mt Superbus in the South and Glen Rock in the North. Starting at Sylvester's Lookout carpark I walked down the road to connect to the Araucaria track and followed it down to the falls. From here its a short cross country walk up through relatively open rain forest to the Western fire trail. This links back to the Mt Castle lookout track. From here I followed the escarpment ridge line through scrappy rain forest until picking up a well worn footpad returning from Laidley falls, and eventually connecting back to the Sylvesters Lookout track.
