Caminos bien señalizados, etapas asequibles, dependiendo de la carga que debas llevar ya que en los refugios sólo hay agua, y parajes dificilmente igualables.

The most famous trails of Iceland. Mountains, gorges, lakes, hot springs, lava flows, snow fields, volcanoes, waterfalls it is all there. Only bit that makes it difficult are the river crossings for which you need to remove boots and trousers.

Trail what " must hike" in Iceland ... once. Better to spend time hiking in Fjallabak area .

I hiked this trail in June 2023. It is moderately heavy. The worst is the first day because most of the climbing happens on it. We carried tents and food for all four days in backpacks, so the weight of the backpacks was significantly higher on the first day. If you sleep in mountain huts and use the services of transporting supplies and food, then this trail is more in the category of light hiking. The landscapes are magical. The most boring is the third day, but I suggest that you reach the camp, leave your backpack and go back a few hundred meters to the Markarfljótsgljúfur canyon. The view is incredible and the light in the evening is much better than in the morning. Touring the canyon will increase your mileage for the day by 4.5 km, with about 250 meters of ascent.
