Itinerary description
Nice hike through the tropical forest. If you listen you can hear lots of birds singing. We saw a hummingbird that when flying sounded like it was purring, an iguana crossed the path, and a couple of agoutis that apparently are native to the island but are very shy. Very cool.
The start of the trail is not well indicated as they really want you to use guides but we like to go on our own and ended up starting the trail in reverse. We were told to turn at the college but it is not marked and didn't know. If you must to start there, turn left at the Montserrat Animal Protection Agency, the college is behind it. Then follow the road up.
I think starting the reverse way was much better. The hardest part was at OUR beginning of the trail rather than the end.
It was a good hike overall.
