Itinerary description
This trail would very obviously only classify as moderate in normal circumstances. However, the section at the eastern end of the trail, where it turns abruptly northwards, requires the scaling of two walls and scraping under two sets of barbed wire. I will look for an alternative to this section.
The rest of the trail is lovely; very shaded and the pathways are clear. There are obviously some ancient remains under the foliage but it is impossible to ascertain what they are.
As you will see from the photos, the ministry of the environment have come down hard on some illegal avocado plantations; this may account for the barbed wire and some of the new padlocks. I would not recommned this route in its present form until these matters have been settled. You could do the first half and simply return along the outgoing path.
Having said all that, we saw no one on the trail until almost at the end, when one truck passed us on a wider section approaching Coenembo.
