Itinerary description

This was a walk with An Oige, the Irish Youth Hostelling Group. We went by bus from Dublin to Athy for the start of the walk. This walk takes in part of the Barrow Way, and is an easy path along the shores of the Barrow River. It could also be called the walk of the Bridges and Locks. The river is navigable, and pleasure boats were passing through the Locks. It is an easy walk, but with a very hot June day and the 20 km distance, we felt the need for cool refreshments when we arrived in Carlow. The Barrow festival was being celebrated in the Park and the streets of the town. We returned by bus to Dublin.
Hicimos esta ruta con An Oige, el Grupo de Hostales de la Juventud de Irlanda. Fuimos en autobús desde Dublín a Athy para empezar el camino. La ruta es parte del llamado Camino del Barrow, y es un camino fácil por la orilla del Río Barrow. También se puede denominar "el camino de los puentes y esclusas". El río es navegable, y vimos algunos barcos de recreo pasar por las esclusas. Es una ruta fácil, pero dado que fue un día de mucho calor del mes de junio, y los 20 km, al llegar a Carlow fuimos directamente a por un refresco. Coincidimos con el Festival del Barrow. celebrado en el Parque y las calles de pueblo. Volvimos en el autobús a Dublín.
