Te Paki is the Maori name for dunes.
This route starts from a parking lot that is 3 km from the turn off of the main road that goes up to Cape Reinga.
These dunes are an immense accumulation of sand, volcanic residue from primitive explosions.
The walk through them is really worth it. They are spectacular.
