Wadi Tayyibah Short Hike - Fujairah

Parking & starting of the Hiking Trail:
Google “Tayybah Museum” or “Al Taiba Heritage Museum". When you navigate any of these, you will come to the correct place. Any car can reach as it’s a proper road (not rubble or dirt road )
Hiking trail starts in front of the “Al Qala Lodge”, which is few meters ahead from “Al Taiba Heritage Museum”.
There is roadside parking with proper sign board in front of “Al Qala Lodge”, Opposite side of the road, dedicated for Hikers, created by “Fujairah Adventures”, which can park 3-4 vehicles.
Also saw some empty places inside Al Qala Lodge premises as well, even though not sure whether we need to ask someone is it ok to park there.
There is dedicated parking spaces for Heritage Museum as well.

From the dedicated parking, we went inside the “Al Qala Lodge” premises. There were some wooden boards, mentioned the way to the Hiking Trail. Backside of the “Al Qala Lodge” there is a man-made stone stair case which is going down, towards the dirt road. We got down from this stairs. Then we turn left on the dirt road.

We need to walk in this dirt road for about 500 m. In the beginning you will see the back side of the museum, where you can see some replica of old house, some vehicles, etc. We need to pass this section and walk further down on this dirt road. After sometime, you will see a board on the right side of the road, from Fujairah Adventures with some Arabic words. From here, we need to turn away from dirt road and climb on the right, towards mountain.

Sections:
What we realize later, this hike can be consider as 2 sections. Once you done the first section, you will back again to the dirt road. You need to walk sometime again in the dirt road and then the second section will start.

First Section:
From above mentioned point we turn away from dirt road and towards the mountain. You will experience some ascend here. It’s a proper trail, only one way and no chance of getting lost. You can see some trail marks made from stones also in the first few meters. After some time, You will come to an intersection, like T Junction, in a small hill, where you could see clearly that the path is divided in to left and right sides. We choose left side. Note that this intersection is start of a loop. While descending you will re-join to the same place from right side. Soon you will come across dried water fall, which is only the tricky part of this hike, which marked the Hike as Moderate Hike, otherwise easy.

It’s a dried waterfall, with a steep slope with narrow edges. If you look closer, you can see small walking path on the right side of the water fall. We followed this narrow path to cross the water fall. and come to the bottom of the waterfall from other end. It’s only few meters but better to lean towards the mountain and cross this part cautiously. We were with some first timers, and they managed it well.

Once you cross the waterfall and walk for about …. Minutes, you will be joining back to dirt road.

Second section:
Again you need to walk around 500m in the dirt road, to start the second section. This time there were no board, but lot of arrow marks painted in Red and Black colours, which is difficult to miss. Like last time, we need to turn away from the dirt road and climb on the right, towards mountain. This is usual UAE mountain terrain and after around 500m you will see some different small mountain summits which you can choose to climb. We choose the right most one as it was the easiest and was on the way of return path. Once on the summit, you can see nice view of the surroundings also. Then descend starts on the other side of the mountain summit. Descending is very easy and no technical difficulties. You will merge to the trail where you ascend on the T junction intersection, and then you can continue on the same way as you came.

Overall:
We were planning to start the hike earlier, but started around 7 in the morning. We reached the summit within 2 hours with the breaks in between. Descending took only 1hr. Even though we started late, we didn’t feel much hot. Even though the distance is short, it was a good hike with tricky section, which add some more adventurous feeling. 
