Itinerary description

We left the hotel at around 9, and then one hour drive to get to the entrance of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park (1800 m of altitude).
Preparing the papers and the clearance took us almost 3 hours. We had lunch and started our hike.
Our day is fully spent in a rain forest with high humidity. Because of that forest, Kilimanjaro has its own climate. It can change quickly, and it is almost unpredictable.
The hike is around 12km, and we gained a bit more than 1000 m in altitude.
We were walking very slowly but steady. During the last km, it started to rain, but once we arrived at Machame Camp, it was clear sky again.
All expeditions spend the night here at an altitude of 2850 m.
Once the sun set, the temperature dropped, so we had our dinner and went to our tents.
High altitude isn't affecting me yet.

We have an early morning tomorrow ...
