Itinerary description

The national park of "Taman Negara" is the oldest tropical forest in the world, with more than 130 million years.
Kuala Tahan, which belongs to the state of Pahang, is the nearest town to the national park, the town where we settled and from which we started the route (although the track does not start until 300m since I forgot to put the GPS).
You can set up in Kuala Tahan, or on the other side of the Tembeling River (Sungai Tembeling), where the Mutiara Resort Taman Negara is located. If you settle in Kuala Tahan you must pay 1 RYM (€ 0.25) each time you want to cross the river.
In the Waypoint "Bubum Tahan" there is a booth that leads to an esplanade where there is a tree in the middle in which fruits hang so that the animals of the area (deer, monkeys, javalis, calves, ...)
On the other hand, the "Canopy Walk" ride is also worth 5 RYM (€ 1.25) per person. Sincerely, the "Canopy Walk" is a touristy in every rule.
The humidity that is supported in this route, at least the day that we made it, was incredible, I for one had never been in a place with such extreme condition. The route passes by shade through the lush vegetation that exists and we were soaked with sweat from practically the beginning of the route.
Later, in the middle of the route, it would start to rain, and this rain did not fall to us because of the density of the vegetation.
The start of the route until you reach the viewpoint at km 5 of the track. It is a walk by wooden footbridge.
Once on the lookout, the wooden walkway is finished. And the dirt road begins, (here begins the most beautiful of the route). The trail is quite wide and without difficulty to the peak and viewpoint of "Bukit Teresek" (Altitude, 334 m). Up to this point the route is perfectly feasible for children.
Once here, it starts a pretty fun descent and something more technical with a handrail on the side where we can help. This handrail is combined with very short stretches of footbridges in very poor condition.
On the 6.7 km of the track the steep descent ends, although it continues on a downward trajectory. From this point the path narrows more, jungle in its purest state.
At km 7.3 of the track (where GPS makes a small stranger) you come to a fork where two roads split. We will take the one on the left, to return to the part of civilization.
If you take the road on the right, the closest we can find is a shelter called Cegar Anjing.
The return is made parallel to the Tahan river, although the river is not seen at any time by the populated vegetation.
Finally we arrive at the Resort where the route has started, and we cross the Tembeling River again by boat for 1 RYM.
PD: The route can be done by free or with guides of the area, we decided to do it by free, which is assumable if you are accustomed to trekking and go with GPS or have a minimum knowledge of orientation.
PD2 .: From km 6.7 of the track, sometimes the road split in two, to join again the few meters. Usually the sections with more committed steps. I suppose it will be like this so that each one chooses where it will be easier to pass.
PD3 · .: It is advisable to bring plenty of water because you sweat a lot because of the humidity.
PD4 .: We did not bite the leeches (4 to my girlfriend and 3 to me). We carried envelopes of salt, which is one of the ways to get rid of these nasty little animals. The bites of these animals is not painful and you do not even know about it.
