They are located about 25 minutes from the Emerald Lake, in the Yoho National Park in the western foothills of the Rocky Mountains, in the province of British Columbia. In the Cree or Clisteno language, Takakkaw means "magnificent", and this cataract fed by the Daly glacier has its highest point at 384 meters, which makes it the second highest waterfall in Canada.
