Table mountain via skeleton gorge to cable car. We went to Kisstwnbosch Botanical Garden, paid an entrance fee and headed towards the Skeleton Gorge trail. The trail follows the route to Maclears Beacon and the cable car signs. After a gentler climb through fields of King Proteas, watsonias and a pair of unique Ericas, you arrive at Maclears Beacon, the summit of Table Mountain. Although the lighthouse is a good place to visit and the highest point on the mountain, the really impressive views are in and around the cable car station, this area is also teeming with tourists who have taken the cable car up. The upper area of the cable car has a shop, restaurant and café. We go down by cable car or another option is to go down the other Plattekip Gorge trail.
