Hi! I have been to Khao Luang as well. Just wondering, how many km is it from the trail head, from the river to the top? Coz as i see the GPS signal lost here on the halfway to the peak

I have done this trail twice. First of all, I have to say that it doesn't lead to Khao Luang neither I was searching for that, however, the comments might be confusing.

In regards to that specific trail to Ta Fun Peak there are some things to say:

    - Villagers don't know the peak, at least by the name is stated here and that makes the trail a bit more confusing.
    - About halfway up leeches start chasing you like if they were zombies, so make sure you bring a good DEET repellent to protect you from them.
-I did this trail in January and I couldn't finish it (March or April might be a better season). Very close to the end, right where the paved trail ends the only way is a very, very dense jungle that is hard to trespass unless you are using a machete (never a bad idea to bring one with you)

So far, this is my experience, I'll go back, maybe with a guide and a machete and I'll make this trail again.

    Thank you for sharing.

Yes the comment here from 2015 is wrong, this doesn't go to Khao Luang. That comment made me think it did and wasted a couple of days for me. And this trail GPX was made in 2014. Some time between then and now the trail has grown over and no longer exists, almost immediately after you get off the concrete path the way is not clear.

Look at the other trails in the area on Wikiloc which are much more recent - separated into day 1 day 2 etc. That is the way to Khao Luang.
