Itinerary description
An unplanned test hike on Independence day, that saw a lot of adventure, faces and the moment when everything turns white and you think .... "this is how I go"
Two years ago I decided to never go on a hike in afternoon during monsoon.
And I went around 3PM, which was against the principle but I was hoping for wind and some clouds. There was no wind and partial clouds made it even more suffocating.
As I reached rest area 2, I thought to stay there for a while and return. Though Sunday, there were only couple of people there on trail.
But after sometime, i realized that weather was better and area ahead had less trees and bushes given way to the wind so continued.
It was better and I reached Monal.
From there I asked a local guy the way to Said Pur, he point a route that started from Gloria Jeans and passed through the houses. I knew houses had dogs so I asked him if there was a route that does not pass through houses.
There is a gravel road a little away from Monal which takes to SaidPur. Though road only goes near the houses from there is the regular narrow path which I learnt a very hard way.
As I was following the road, a house dog started barking and later chasing me. I ran so hard that all my phones fell down. Dog stopped.
Something I know about domestic dogs is that they don't go far from house. A young boy emerged who calmed the dog.
Now I had lost one of my phones. Boy helped me find it and then accompanied me for sometime.
On my route I found a beautiful hidden water fall, there were people enjoying there and even family came there.
Nearby the village, some boys were practicing rock climbing.
Finally reached Said Pur after dark and visited the "Mandir" there followed by long walk to Trail 3 parking... further followed by long traffic jam and rain on express way.
