Paradise in Jimena: El Chorreón de las Naranjas

The Campo de Gibraltar has magical places surrounded by nature. It is located in a privileged enclave between the coasts and the natural parks of Estrecho and Los Alcornocales.

The Garganta Honda is a little-known space with a lot of natural beauty in the Campo de Gibraltar.

El Chorreón de las Naranjas is a natural paradise located in the municipality of Jimena . To access its location you have to take a route of about 10 kilometers from the place to park the car, the end of a secondary road that goes up to the beginning of the trail.

The trail is marked by piles of stones. It begins as a descent to a fence that must be crossed to continue through the nature center. Once inside, the sound of water will guide you.

The Chorreón de las Naranjas is formed by two slopes of the Arroyo Zapata that come from Loma de la Cueva . It is one of the stops that this stream makes before flowing into the Guadarranque River . The Honda Gorge , the point of interest on this route, is located at the end of the route, a place where you can enjoy swimming in the middle of nature while watching the waterfalls.

This enclave is located in a protected area of the Los Alcornocales Park and there are hunting reserves around it , so it is necessary to inform yourself before going.

In short, it is a privileged space that you shouldn’t miss and that, if you visit it, you must take care of it so that it continues to be part of the wealth of Campo de Gibraltar.
