summer palace is definitely the best choice for mountain hikers in rough weather, such as after heavy snow. it's extremely safe, comfortable and beautiful, on each and every single day, without any doubt. nobody can argue why it's one of the respected world heritages.
it's about 8 kms for one loop. you won't feel boring at all making several loops, since the sceneries are magnificent and unique at different time. check my pictures and you will totally agree with me.
