Itinerary description
This is a short, easy, hike along an old ditch that was used to transport water to hydraulic mines of the 1850's gold rush era. This is near Foresthill, CA by Sugar Pine Reservoir. It is open to hikers only. The old ditch is accessed from a dirt road behind a gate, but it is on public land until the end of the trail as recorded by the track log. Private residential areas are beyond the end of the trail. Many old gold rush era ditches can be found in the Eldorado and Tahoe National Forests.
