Itinerary description
Easy roundtrip from Strútsskáli hut to Maelifell mountain on a ridge with beautiful sights to Maelifellssandur and Myrdalsjökull. The track turns at the end of the ridge and descends to the jeep track, crosses the sandur and ascends to Strútur mountain slopes. In the sandur you have to ford a small river.
There is neither a footpath nor sticks or signs.
