Itinerary description
A great walk thru the parks along the banks of the Avon river (Lake Victoria). Lots to see, leave plenty of time for diversions and bring a camera. A variety of trees (the willows are impressive) beautiful gardens, a myriad of birds including ducks, geese and swans. Mix in some history, statues/art, interesting homes/architecture and some shopping if you must.
Trail notes: Parking can be difficult if theatre is on. Trail has numerous options and is not marked, can be started at any point and done in either direction. There are a few times when you cross busy streets. There are several public washrooms along the way (at the arena, in upper Queens park). Numerous places for food and beverage at the trails intersection with Ontario Street. Very little elevation change, the far western loop can be eliminated or expanded depending on your time and energy.
The hike is more of an urban nature walk but it is one of my favorites, hope you enjoy it.

The section between Waterloo St N and the dam is on private property and not available you must take William Street for that section of the walk.
