Itinerary description
This connection trail initiates on the main square of Calheta de São Miguel and moves north by the main road towards Nazareno Church. There, it turns left and follows along side the Ribeireta stream. The initial part is plane and through an unpaved track, surrounded by cultivated lands for subsistence purposes in the midst of streamy vegetation. After Cutelo Limão, it is possible to climb to Bode Hill by a trail that crosses several houses. By the end of the climb, a water fountain used by the local popula¬tion is a perfect place to rest. Afterwards, the trail passes by an enormous basalt outcrop, where it is possible to observe the co¬lumnar dysjunction resembling the organ of a church. Reaching Cutelo Gomes, the track takes you to Aguadinha de São Miguel. From here to Achada Lazão several tracks, mostly alongside the highest points, offer a stunning view of the valleys of Malague¬ta Hill. This trail intercepts the main trail in Achada Lazão and moves south by the same trail towards Achada Lém, where it di¬verts and ends on the main road, on the stop of public transport.
