Itinerary description

This trail follows Christmas Creek for the first section passing many pretty pools suitable for a swim. This can be done as a easier option. The second half follows a steep ridge line which could be continued up to Point Lookout. This looks to be a short trip on paper; however, there is a lot of scrambling up steep root infested slopes. It not technically difficult, but I recommend allowing extra time. There is one small cliff area that can be easily ascended on the left via good tree root ladder. The trail to Stinson Wreck is not the same as on the topographic map. The tail from the campsite heads north then northeast, not northwest.

Did this route with the family - wife, girl(6) and boy(5). Did it as an overnighter, had plenty of time, kids loved it. Navigation is pretty easy, couple of drop offs to keep an eye out for with young kids.
