Itinerary description
Walked as part of a two-day Lysos-Stavros tis Psokas-Pano Panagia outing.
This stretch was shorter than the previous day (see Lysos-Stavros_E4) so it was possible to reach Pano Panagia in time to get the bus back down into Paphos (as well as having a beer there.)
This is an extremely pleasant walk on forest roads (no traffic), starting above Stavros with excellent views, then down into a river valley with many deciduous trees (golden plane trees in autumn.)
This particular route ends with climbing up again to reach Panagia, with about 2.5km along the road at the end. There should be a footpath parallel to some of the road walk but we didn't find it.
On a previous occasion we walked it in the opposite direction, having been dropped by the bus at the edge of the reservoir. This would have avoided the climb up at the end - although the climb was amongst trees, so not bad.
However, we were not sure about how easy it would be to pick up a bus in the downward/Paphos direction. It might involve a 3.2 km road walk down to the official bus stop at Kannaviou.
I think the one marked is probably better.
