Itinerary description

This is a 7.2 mile walk not 8 as recorded there was a GPS blip when I went through the tunnel which should look obvious on the route map. This a great walk with many interesting sceneries along the route. Half way round Calke Abbey is perfectly placed for a coffee. The route is fairly flat. Parking at the reservoir was £2.50 for the day. There is also a coffee shop here.

Coffee Stop

Served dinners £6 -£9 choice of 5 or 6 on menu as well as cakes etc The food was very good quality. Proper coffee: Americano (£2.40) , Latte (£2.75) etc. Busy but managed to find a table.

Calke Abbey Lake

Tunnel

Really surprised to stumble across this interesting tunnel, it is about 100ft long and great fun walking through. We nearly missed it as is a little hidden from the main footpath.
