We start the route next to the departure point of the rack train that leaves Stary Smokovec and goes up to Hrebienok. Passed this population going up slightly, about 20 min. We arrived at Rainerova Chata, who according to what we were informed is the oldest Chata of the Tatras.
For a quite complicated stone floor, we continue until we reach Obrovský Vodopád, a beautiful waterfall that can be seen from a bridge.
We follow the path and to our left is Zamkovského Chata, a beautiful mountain hut where you can, among other things, take the very famous Slovak garlic soup.
The road skirts the mountain and with beautiful views brings us closer to Skalnaté Pleso. Before arriving we can see the cabins of the cable car that goes from Tatranská Lomnica to Lomnichý Śtit, which with its 2634 m is the second highest peak of the Tatras.
Skalnaté Pleso (Rocky Lake) is at 1751 m. and it remains frozen a good part of the year.
From here the views are beautiful towards the mountains.
After the photos of rigor and recovering strength, we make the return along the same path until we reach Rainerova Chata. Here we take the path that descends following the course of the river, which will allow us to contemplate several beautiful waterfalls, before passing through Bilikova Chata and a little after arriving in Hrebienok. We finished the route and took the cog railway to Starý Smokovec.
