Itinerary description
The Stairway to Heaven Right Bank is probably the most talked about trek route in the UAE. It is stunning, unique and exciting to do due to many reasons. The route is almost marked, long trail winding up to the village, ample places to rest, hardly any chance to get lost.
However, this route must NEVER be attempted solo or by BEGINNERS. You must be with someone knows the route, and have done it at least once before.
It is around 16km round trip with ascend of about 1500m and elevation gain of 1200m. The trail is fully exposed with steep ascend and descend at times, stone steps to reach the summit and loose rocks in some sections making is accessible for experienced hikers. This means one must carry min 5-6L water and electrolytes and food to last about 10-12 hours, proper hiking boots with ankle support and walking poles.
Basically, the STH is not to be underestimated.

I would rate it as overall difficult as it requires a very good fitness lever for an estimated elevation gain of 1,200m but moderate in terms of complexity as it is just following a donkey trail up, with proper stairs in most of the areas.

I would rate it as overall difficult as it requires a very good fitness lever for an estimated elevation gain of 1,200m but moderate in terms of complexity as it is just following a donkey trail up, with proper stairs in most of the areas. I guess in the meanwhile the path has been significantly improved by the locals who use the donkeys to carry goods to their houses up to the top. Thanks to Milind experience we completed the same hike in 9 hours including short breaks on the way up and about 30 min break at the top.
Hello! We are group of 5 friends who hiked several places in UAE but mostly with clear and easy trails to follow. We may have done moderate to difficult one but along with the paid group. Now we are eager to try this STH hike using only the wikiloc guide. Can anyone tell me what are the chances of getting lost in this plan? I would be grateful for any info and tips! Thanks 😊
And by the way im new in wikiloc 😬
Ann me and my friend always use wikiloc guide and never been with any paid group. We’ve done more than 10 hikes only with Wikiloc. Just make sure you have a power bank with ya 👍🏻
