La etapa de hoy está plagada de contrastes: una salida de Santarém preciosa que contrasta con una llegada a Golegã estresante tras nueve kilómetros andando por carretera sin arcén y con un tráfico de coches y camiones ajenos a la existencia de peregrinos-peatones. Kilómetros baldíos que contrastan con pueblos como Azinhaga, cuna del premio nobel Jose Saramago, que tiene decorada las calles y parques con citas del escritor. Por último: las indicaciones del track no corresponden con las señales de las flechas en los últimos kilómetros antes de llegar a Azinhaga

Today's stage is full of contrasts: a beautiful departure from Santarém that contrasts with a stressful arrival in Golegã after nine kilometers walking along a road with no pavement and with cars and trucks that ignore pilgrims-pedestrians. Kilometers of nothing to see that contrast with towns like Azinhaga, birthplace of the Nobel Prize winner Jose Saramago, whose streets and parks are decorated with quotes from the writer.

Finally: the indications of the track do not correspond with the arrow signs in the last kilometers before Azinhaga.

Wrong way?

According to the track, the way goes straight ahead and that’s what we did. The arrow at this point, though, points to the left. A few kilometres further we realized we should have followed that arrow. The track made us make a detour. Según el track, el camino sigue recto y eso es lo que hicimos. Sin embargo, la flecha en este punto apunta a la izquierda. Unos kilómetros más adelante nos dimos cuenta de que deberíamos haber seguido esa flecha. El track nos hizo dar un rodeo
