NAGU SEAKAYAK

Our guided trips include top of the range paddling equipment and sea kayaks plus meals. No previous kayaking experience is required. Our tour guides are all trained sea paddling coaches. / We are a small family enterprise. I, Jocke Enckell, guide most of the tours myself, while my wife Leila sees to catering. We use mainly locally produced food, organic whenever available. We share our home with two dogs, a small Havana dog, and a Lagotto.

A rowboat is at one’s disposal without extra charge. The B&B is suitable for smaller parties, meetings and other occasions as well as for recreational purposes, like fishing trips. Seili - Själö

Seili church and surrounding graveyard still remind of the destinies of Seili’s patients. The mentally ill were treated on Seili until 1960s, when the former asylum was converted for the use of the Archipelago Research Institute, Centre for Environmental Research of the University of Turku. During spring and summer of 2017 variety of new services was opened on Seili. Visitors have now an opportunity to get to know islands history and research conducted by University of Turku even more closely during guided tours. Nagu St. Olav Church

The church is dedicated to Saint Olav. The building’s history is little disputed but all historians who have examined the church believe that the church building was built in the 1430s. The small church on the north side of the church was built in the middle of the 17th century, originally as a burial chapel, but is now used as a ceremonial chapel. The building north of the church, which was originally built as a burial chapel for the Finckenberg family in the late 18th century, now functions as a storage building. Northwest and northeast of the church are in the cemetery houses that were built in the 18th century. On the hilltop northwest of the cemetery is the 1751 completed belfry. The octagonal bell tower was later built. / The church's original altar cabinet from the 15th century is now in the National Museum, as well as the stained-glass windows made in the 1440s depicting Saint Olav and Saint Erik. Copies of the stained-glass windows were made during the first decades of the 20th century. The only medieval wooden sculpture left in the church is a triumphal crucifix from the 15th century. Finland's oldest preserved positive organ from the 1660s, the so-called Nagu Positive, has also been moved to the National Museum. The current organ is from 1791. The church's current pulpit, based on drawings by county architect C.J. von Heideken, was made by Turku resident Johan Westling in 1870. The former pulpit was received as a gift in 1621 and it was donated in 1894 to the Turku City Historical Museum, where it burned during the war year 1941. / Medieval and 17th-century chalk paintings are found closest to the arches, as well as some that remain on walls and pillars. Some of the paintings were intentionally removed in the 1870s in connection with a liming. The paintings are simple, so-called construction worker paintings. On the north wall of the church hangs a picture made by R. W. Ekman of da Vinci's Communion from the year 1850, donated by K. H. Finckenberg's funeral home. Kauden 2019 suunnittelu on jo alkanut ja julkaisemme kohteet alkutalven aikana !! / Talonpoikaisvene Tacksamheten on vanhan venetyypin moderni versio, jonka hiilijalanjälki ja ympäristön kuormitus on minimaalista.Paatin runkomuoto pohjautuu Saaristomeren perinteiseen Markkina-/rahtivenemalliin joka tunnetiin yksinkertaisesti nimellä Storbåt. Keskihytti on kopio saman aikakauden Sumppuveneistä. Näitä talonpoikaisveneitä oli saaristokunnissa käytössä 1500-luvulta aina 1900 luvun alkuun asti.Nauvossa veistetiin vuonna 1825. Storbåt nimeltä Tacksamheten. Tästä saimme inspiraation veneen nimeen. Tacksamheten on CE-sertifioitu ja rekisteröity 12 matkustajalle.

Hotel Lanterna

Lanterna Hotel is a small, friendly hotel in the heart of Nauvo. The hotel is located next to the guest harbour and  the centre of Nauvo lies within a short walking distance. The yellow wooden building – constructed in the beginning of the 20th century – is hospitable and individual with an exciting interior design. / The hotel was completely renovated in 2004. All the rooms are different from each other and they have the atmosphere of a traditional summer residence. Room prices include breakfast, wifi and free parking (parking space is subject to availability). / Lanterna Hotel has a restaurant and an absinthe bar – both open for private functions.  In the hotel yard you can find Sussi’s (the owner) cheramic art studio and the summer restaurant Pub Niska.
