Itinerary description
English (castellano debajo):
There is a long street where you can park next to the recycling point. It's the same parking shared by the camping des Cheseaux; at La Chenalette.
There is no better or worse way in case you want to hike anticlockwise. The only difference is that you will go up shorter but steeper.
From the very beginning you will need to walk on road path (I only crossed 1 car), then you will be changing to a narrower mountain trail, but never rocky. The path is easy and some times might not be super well indicated. There are signs directing you to la dôle all the time, but the directions given are more to reach by car rather than walking.
You will find various restaurants (can be reached by car in case you want to do it shorter) and hundreds of cows everywhere along the way, so just enjoy it.
On top of la Dôle you will find lots of other people picnicing, many of them are families with kids but you will find a good spot to have a relaxing lunch with amazing views of the lake and all towns around it.
The way down is quite easy and after the first 2 km descending, the rest will be flat until you reach the car. There are different path options and all of them will take you to the same place.
Also, there is a moment where you will be able to cross to France, just few meters away from the border (not physical border) in case you want to say that you crossed to another country.
Make sure you get enough water as we didn't find any fountain where to refill apart from the already mentioned restaurants.
Castellano:
