Itinerary description

Great walk in an amazing nature reserve called Springendal, located in the north-eastern part of Twente, province of Overijssel.
How peaceful this area is for hikers! There seem to be more cyclists crossing this area but on your bike you can't fully appreciate the beauty and quiet corners there. "De bronnen", also called "grote bronvijver", a lovely fen, can only be reached on foot as it's not located along one of the many cycle paths.

En route you pass Springendalhoeve, an idyllic spot where you can have some drinks and snacks.

This trail starts from a carpark on Blauweg managed by Staatsbosbeheer. It's somewhat hidden from sight from the main road in the area. When you turn off this road, you turn onto a sandy track and after some hundred meters turn right into the carpark.

There are lots of (signposted) walks in this Springendal due to its vastness. This particular hike was inspired by what we read somewhere by Truus Wijnen.
