Itinerary description
Spitakavor (Սպիտակավոր) is a 14th-century Armenian monastic complex, and Proshaberd ( Պռոշաբերդ ) is 13th century fortress built in the middle of Vayots Dzor's mountains.
Our Piligrimage to Spitakavor and Proshaberd was by classic hiking route.
Some information about this route:
--- There are 2 ways to Spitakavor, first one is a walking route, the second one is a road for vehicles.
--- The route to Proshaberd is the same as the route to Spitakavor, so even if you want to head to only Proshaberd, the route passes through Spitakavor's trail.
--- The length of the route is about 14 km.
--- Spitakavor and Proshaberd are in Vayots Dzor province, so we usually hike there from the end of April till June and after November (As summer is too hot there).
