Itinerary description
US Rt 11 North to Camp Bethel Road, left on US Forest Road 643, approx. 1 mile, cross wood plank bridge to park; Wife and I climbed 'Slide' trail on right at bridge, very steep 450' climb, slippery leaves + pine needles; at top turn right on tram/RR roadbed; approx. 30 minute, easy, scenic walk to mine openings; use caution, mines closed approx. 1927, entrances partially collapsed but accessible; Caution: recommend hard hat & bright lights at a minimum, shallow water and ice (January)
