Itinerary description
EN: Departure and arrival: Parking on the edge of the village of Blumenthal where the Mullerthal Trail passes (N14, 7639 Blumenthal Junglinster). Good basic fitness required. Easy to walk trails. Weather conditions such as wetness, ice and wind can make a tour difficult. The information given refers to optimal conditions. Equipment: Sturdy shoes and something to drink.
This hike is a little atypical for the Mullerthal because it doesn't just offer you rocks and forests, it mostly takes place over fields and plateaus. On sunny days it is a good hike for those who want to sunbathe. Start your hike on a beautiful path at the edge of the Jean Haris forest. We climb the Houbierg plateau and continue on the Mullerthal Trail until close to Larochette. We return across the open fields through Heffingen to the prehistoric site of Löschbur where one of the oldest prehistoric human skeletons has been discovered. We cross the Ernz Noire and along the Mullerthal Trail we pass through the Marscherwald, Rippsmuer (wetlands with special vegetation and fauna) and Sonnenuhr (a sundial on top of some spectacular cliffs).
