Itinerary description

This trail is the remnants of the old ditch which brought water from the Gerle Creek to Georgetown. I have broken this trail into segments and posted them as Parts A, B, & C. Part A starts an old haul road where it meets Wentworth Springs Road (point A). This road continues in and out of private land for about a half mile before reaching point B. Here at point B, hikers can follow the ditch, sometimes walking on the crown of it and sometimes in the ditch itself until you reach the end of Part A and the junction with the South Fork Rubicon Access Road Trail. The trail is flat but very overgrown thus the moderate rating for difficulty. You will have some spectacular views of the Rubicon and South Fork Rubicon River Canyons along this trail. Remnants of old water flumes used to carry water over rocks can be seen as well. Be wary of nails. Hikers only on this one. No motorized vehicles are allowed here.
