Sound View Dunes Park

Acquired by Southold Town and Suffolk County in 2008, Sound View Dunes Park spans 57-acres of beach, dune, wetland and forest habitats. The trails offer stunning views of Long Island Sound, access to the beach, and a glimpse of the maritime freshwater interdunal swale community (shallow freshwater wetlands that occur between dunes and are rare in New York State). The Forest Trail is a meandering one-mile loop. The Beach Trail is a little more than a third mile trail directly leading to the beach.
