Itinerary description
Sugarloaf reservoir is nestled in the Christmas Hills and the hike circumnavigates the reservoir offering wonderful views across the water. Would be a lovely setting for a picnic in nice weather (which it absolutely was not for us!!).
A 15-18km hike (depending on whose information you look at- for us it was 16.5km). We started at the Ridge Picnic Area and headed clockwise.
A relatively easy trail, it's just the distance that may be challenging, but does require an ability to navigate natural trail obstacles and 'slippery' clay when wet.
Toilets available at both Ridge and Saddle Dam picnic areas/car parks.
Note- no dogs allowed.
