Itinerary description
Start at the beach and walk next to the beautiful sea. Then climb up the mountain, it is a winding and steep route, but the view is amazing. Not too difficult, but for people how are afraid of heights it can be scary at some parts. It seems the government will make adjustments to the path, hiking there now (April 2022) is at your own risk.
After the Necropolis you have a nice view of the town of Mattinata. We followed the signs of the Saraceno Trail (green) untill the city. They walked it in reverse, so the signs should be seen from the other side. There weren't signs everywhere, sometimes we took a wrong way. If you see that we have returned somewhere, just don't go in there! We then walked on the main road of the town and made our way back to the camperplace.
The last part there were a lot of barking dogs, protecting flocks of sheep and land.
We enjoyed the hike because of its variation. Beach, mountain, town, olivefields.
