SOS Circular Calzada Romana Cercedilla-Puerto de Fuenfría (Segovia)

Ruta circular que asciende por la Calzada Romana hasta el puerto de Fuenfría, para luego descender por la Carretera de la República y una senda.

Ruta que realicé con el fin de DENUNCIAR EL ABANDONO DEL TRAMO DE CALZADA ROMANA que data de la época del emperador Vespasiano (aunque reformada por el emperador Felipe V) y que transcurre por LA COMUNIDAD DE MADRID.

Se trata de unos kilómetros de calzada hasta el puerto de Fuenfría en penoso estado. La erosión y la falta de mantenimiento están haciendo desaparecer todo el firme existente. Como no hay interés en mantenerla en buen estado y esta no se reconstruye, la maleza crece entre el firme existente, contribuyendo con ello a la erosión y al mal estado. En otros tramos, lo que era una Calzada Romana se ha convertido en un mero sendero intransitable, por el mal estado del firme (unos guijarros sueltos).

Las piedras del firme están levantadas, todo lo contrario a lo que sucede en el tramo que transcurre ya en Castilla y León, donde un trabajo increíble de reconstrucción y mantenimiento, hace que esté totalmente asentado y libre de maleza, con indicaciones descriptivas históricas que hacen referencia tanto al Camino de Santiago como a la Calzada Romana y, lo más importante, totalmente transitable hasta casi Valsaín.

Animo a que compruebes su estado tú mismo y lo compares con el estado de mantenimiento en Castilla y León, con el fin de que hagas tus valoraciones.

Es lamentable el estado de la misma, es lamentable que un bien de interés arqueológico e histórico europeo se encuentre en este estado de abandono, fruto del DESINTERÉS que por el mismo se tiene en la COMUNIDAD DE MADRID.

Aunque en la Comunidad de Madrid se asegure que está en perfecto estado, me he tomado la libertad de incluir unas fotos realizadas en el invierno del 2009-2010 en el que se ve tanto la maleza como el estado del firme. Aunque la nieve oculta parte del estado, se aprecia su lamentable estado. También he realizado dos fotos de Castilla y León una de un hito y otra de una vista general en la que se ve el contraste aunque cubierto de nieve se ve la "claridad" de la Calzada, la falta de maleza y, si miras debajo de la nieve, el buen estado de conservación del firme.

Circular route that goes up the Roman Road to the port of Fuenfría, then down the "Carretera de la República" and a path.

Route I made in order to denounce the abandonment of the Roman road (built in Vespasiano emperor's time but rebuilt in Felipe V's time) that runs through the THE COMUNIDAD DE MADRID.

It is a few miles of road to the port of Fuenfría in poor state. Erosion and lack of maintenance are wiping out all existing firm. It is unfortunate the state of the same, it is regrettable that an asset of the EUROPEAN ARCHEOLOGICAL AND HISTORY ELEMENT is in this state of disrepair, the result of disinterest by the same we have in the COMUNIDAD DE MADRID.
