Itinerary description
A walk through the outskirts of Monrovia.
The walk starts at a fuel station on Somali drive. There is usually a security guard on duty so you can park your car is relatively safe. Specially if you tip him in advance...
The there, the hike takes you of the paved road on to dirt road that quickly get smaller and smaller. You pass by many houses and you will see lot of kids and adults.
Along the way, there are a few points where you have to cross a small stream. Sometimes there is a bridge, but not always. So take some flip-flops with you so you can cross the stream without getting your regular shoes wet.
As some of the small bridges are a bit dodgy, it's also recommended to take a plastic bag with you to store your electronics or other valuables in case you don't make the crossing dry.
Also don't forget to take plenty of water with you. You will be able to buy some along the way, but it's better to have it with you.
As a considerable part of the track is around the swamp, this track is recommended only in the dry season as it might be much wet during the rainy season.
