Itinerary description

The trail starts at Balıklı Göl. The road to the starting point is somewhat rocky but sufficiently stabilized for a car ride. I strongly suggest that you follow the panoramic cliffside path while ascending. Karagol is breathtakingly beautiful with crystal clear water. An intensely steep cliff is intimidating the passerby. Amazing overhead view of Karagol from the summit.

I haven’t found a water fund but the locals said that the water from the lake is drinkable. I strongly doubt that it is fairly safe, so take sufficient amount of supplies before you start. You can refill your water at starting point.

The first lake is fairly close to the road where we would park our vehicle. Meet Hasan Usta and enjoy a cup of tee.

Rock Formation

Based on the information I gathered from the local folk, these circular rock formations are built by shepherds to “park” a small herd.

Water is so clear that you crave to drink from it. Please don’t litter. P.S: the water is incredibly cold to be able to take a swim (at least for me).

Cliff

The photos are not descriptive enough but the cliff is seriously intense. The wind is also strong from time to time, so I wouldn’t suggest getting too close.

My personal summit for this trail. Would like to continue but didn’t want to risk it. The view is amazing and the lake is breathtaking.

I have encountered the herd passing. Played my bansuri flute to the animals. Some of them enjoyed the music, I guess...
