Itinerary description
**Warning: This is not a track walk after the woods to Coomnahorna and off the mountain until you hit the Lomanagh Loop road. It was also extremely wet going in the beginning of August.
**This trail is just a guide and the firebreak can be missed if you continue down the edge of the woods until you hit the Lomanagh track near the farm house.
The walking to the first woods is road and a dirt road, pretty straight forward. In the woods at the end of the dirt road it's a matter of slowly making you way to the edge of the woods, the best route you can find. On the hill it was extremely wet so don't expect dry feet!..
Off the mountain towards the second woods it was extremely wet going also. We found a fire break in the second woods and this was again very wet and challenging with tall grass and reeds. Lots of hidden holes and tree stumps. Battling through a relatively short fire break maybe 500m we hit the dirt road and made our way back to Sneem following the Lomanagh Loop.
We found this walk easy to moderate. It took us 4.5hrs including breaks. On the mountain and the fire break it was slow going as it was wet and slippy but great fun...
Found it unusual that their were no track around the mountain probably meaning no one hikes here.
