Itinerary description
The trip is an almost 14km hike in the Karawanks, a moutain ridge separating Austria from Slovenia. We parked our car at the parking lot in Srednij Vrh at about 980m altitude. The first part of the hike goes over a forest road. After quite a while we ended up at the ridge between both countries. The highest altitide of this hike is about 1850m. From the top it was a nice descent through a meadow. The final part was a rather lengthy walk over a gravel path, leading us back to the parking lot. My three boys (4, 8 and 14 years old) found this hike rather exhausting.
