Itinerary description
Waypoints
5 spot FATTO
Soil Quite sandy, organic matter accumulated with mineral soil. No iron left here, it's already dissolved, there's only organic matter to give the colour. Wet soil -> slow decomposition. Birch standing around and beech, so it was an open area before. Now it's not wet because of the summer
Spot 6
Norway spruce and grand fir (from north west america). About 35 m high. They grow a lot and fast, so sequestrate carbon
Pinus sylvestris FATTO
Huge open area, we guess trees here are harvested. Mussels, ferns, removed dead woods, they probably not be planted, regeneration maybe douglas fir. Norway spruce is the other regeneration species
Norway spruce monoculture FATTO
Harvesting, quite homogeneous in dimensions (same age). Few larches. Mussels on the forest floor, few ferns but mostly without anything (dense forest)
Larch and maple (larch dominance) FATTO
Really high trees. Regeneration of maple. There is also beech, dense forest
Cipressus and maple FATTO
More than one regeneration, maple regeneration in the light part. Beech regeneration is in the shade
Tilia and quercus FATTO
Ulmus glabra (second layer) Ash and maple in the new regeneration
Douglas monoculture
Really really dense, platated, cold and moist Fast turnover. Harvesting
