Visit the spectacular dunes that surround Skardu. It is a simple route that does not offer any difficulty, beyond moving through the sand.
The dunes offer a fairytale landscape, surrounded by spectacular mountains to both the north and south and the Indus River.
Also, we stayed long enough to watch the beautiful sunset over the mountains. In short, if you have time, which is normal, either on the way out or on the way back from the Baltoro trek, I consider it a totally essential route.
