Itinerary description
mostly easy ground, sometimes steep slopes, 2 streams to cross
fantastic view from Gjátindur, into Eldgjá and Ófaerufoss. The track continues all above the Eldgjá canyon. When You leave the nature reserve at junction with F208 road you can decide whether to hike first along the road and then over the hill to Hólaskjól or you follow this track and the sticks along Skaftá river over grass and heath.
Toilets at Edgjá parking site and Hólaskjól.
On the last part to Álftavötn you have to cross a stream that could be difficult depending on water level.
