Itinerary description
This part of the trail is the most difficult in terms of technical passages. The path to Piz Boé is very simple and easy until the last part where you'll be required to use some metallic ropes and metal steps. It's often very crowded so expect delays and be ready to make way for other hickers. Once at the Boé hut, take the Cresta Strenta (tight crest) path. It is breathtaking, but don't get distracted as especially the first part it is quite difficult with exposed sections and no rope, you will be required to climb some rocks with both sides exposed, nothing impossible but some experience is required. The last part before the Kostner Hut is similar but the path has ropes and metalic steps and it's exposed only on one side. I would avoid it if it's raining. Alternatively there's a path going south from Piz Boé which is longer and steeper and still has ropes and exposed sections but easier overall and safer in case of rain.
Complete Tour:
the tour was replanned starting from the official Alta Via #9. Had to rearrange because of time constrains and unavailability of huts. Find other parts on my profile
