Itinerary description
We spotted this area on our way into Cape Town and it is just off Ou Kaapseweg as it nears the highest part of the pass. The Nature Reserve is very beautiful and provides great views of the surrounding area including the Table Mountains, Cape Town Bay and False Bay.
We parked at a lot on the east side of the main road and walked down a dirt road towards a second parking lot and another gate across the dirt road. From here we followed a trail marked Waterfall that started just before and to the left of the second gate (also just before a trail board). There was no water but definitely some fall. The path is rocky but easy to follow with signs at intersections. Noticeable elevation changes but great views when you get to the top.
The trail is an 'in and out' (you retrace your steps) so go in as far as you like (more accurately up) and return when you have seen enough. Bring water.
