Itinerary description
The Sila National Park is located in the south of Italy, in the middle of Calabria, east of Cosenza. Sila is known for its lakes and many trees. The national park has a size of 750 km2, which is mostly covered with forest. The name of the national park comes from the Latin word Silva, which means 'forest'. Because there are so many trees in a relatively small area, Sila has the cleanest air in Europe.
