Itinerary description
A walk across the High Fens of Belgium with wonderful views.
From the big parking place at the Signal de Botrange you can follow several signposted shorter walks of which we made a combination.
Thanks to the many wooden platforms yoour boots will remain dry.
Especially the part of the track between Port le Balleu and the junction for La Poleur is very beautiful and might even give you the feeling climbing a mountain thanks to the slope to the left of you that steeply goes down to the river la Poleur.
Most of the walk will give you an enormous sense of vastness and isolation, apart from the prats of the track near La Baraque Michel and Signal de Botrange of course.
If this walk is too long to your liking you could make it 4,5 kilometres shorter by not taking the part of the track in the south-eastern direction. Or you could start at the parking place of La Baraque Michel and cross the road at Signal de Botrange.
