Short excursion to visit the Siddha Cave (Siddha Gufa) from the pretty village of Bandipur. The route is short and the road is quite good, but there is some unevenness in the first section of descent and in the last section just before the cave. As it is back and forth along the same road, it is interesting to do the excursion early in the morning so as not to sweat too much when you return. The landscape is pretty jungle and beautiful. The cave itself is small (it is supposed to be the largest cave in Nepal, but what you walk is rather little) The entrance costs about 100 rupees. The attraction itself is that you visit on your own (you must bring a good flashlight if you want to see something). The entrance to the cave is somewhat abrupt for those who are not very agile walking on rocks. You can get to a large gallery where there are a couple of flights of stairs to go down (in this innermost section there are many insects that are very annoying because they are thrown into the light and, in our case, when wearing fronts, they got into you literally in the eyes) There is also a good colony of bats on top of this gallery.
The GPS failed spectacularly at the exit of the cave and marked a track line to almost the road, so you have to discount about 500m in length and about 200m of altitude, which leaves the route in a length of almost 6.5kms and a drop of just over 400m.
