Itinerary description
Seldom hiked trail over Shaw's Ridge in the George Washington National Forest in Highland County, Virginia. Trail starts at the intersection of U.S. 250 and Rt. 616 in Head Waters, Virginia. Trail ends at Jones Hunter Access Trail, an old road that ends at Rt. 614 near the Cowpasture River. This trail is marked with yellow plastic diamonds, but the trail is difficult to follow in places. This hike required a car shuttle.
