Itinerary description
Interesting city walk little south of Dublin. The site can be easily reached by DART, and the track begins and ends at different DART stations.
In few kilometers there is a truly remarkable concentration of things to see. The whole area is very luxurious and seems to be safe also at night, even up on the Killiney Hill.
I described the walk in a south-to-north direction, as I did it on April 21, 2015. However, I would recommend to perform it in the opposite direction, as I had done piecewise the previous evenings. Namely, I think that the approach to the Killiney Hill, which is the highlight of the tour, is more scenically rewarding that way.

It’s a lovely area. I suggest a variation, on leaving Shankill Dart station head for Shanganngh Cliffs to walk along the Killiney Beach as far as you can go to Whiterock beach and then ascend Killiney Hill or turn right onto Sorrento Road and in to Colimore Harbour and take a boat trip to Dalkey Island, then walk 39 minutes to lovely Dalkey village to get the train or refreshments. A wonderful day out.
